Police Liaison
Police Liaison

The primary purpose of the Police Liaison Program is to provide an easily accessible resource for the students within the District. By working in the schools, the students get to know the officers so if they are having difficulties, they can seek help from an officer they are familiar with. Also, because the officers become familiar with the students and the issues within the schools, the officers are better able to respond to issues effectively. The role of providing a resource not only applies to the students, but also to the parents and the schools. Because of the consistent presence in the schools, the officers are in a better position to give advice as issues arise affecting the students. Although holding students accountable for illegal activities is part of the officers' responsibilities, the main focus is working with the students to help them avoid making poor decisions that might lead to legal difficulties.
