Hope you all had a great summer and you are ready to get back into shape and enjoy playing some team sports.

My name is Mrs. Holets and this will be my 19th year teaching in the Rochester School District. I was born in Iowa and moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, when I was one year old.  Yes, I said Green Bay, land of the Packers. I am a big Packers fan and will bleed green and gold if cut.

My goal this year is to introduce some lifelong activities that your son/daughter may carry on throughout his or her lifetime. I will also teach team sports along with individual sports. Learning to be a team player is an important strategy to learn since working together as a team is what makes teams successful. Some kids enjoy lifelong individual activities like golf.

To start the year off we will do some frisbee golf. You will learn how to play three different types of games with frisbee golf and your classmates.

Some other units we will play this fall will include Football, Capture The Flag and Soccer.

Of course we will fit in the famous Presidential Fitness Testing and running the mile before winter weather sets in.

We will be engaging in a different unit every 6-7 days of class. Hopefully I will be teaching something that you will enjoy and have fun learning. You will earn your grade for each unit depending on the points mentioned above.

Don't forget to bring warm clothing for outside weather in the fall. We don't make you purchase the sweatpants and sweatshirts from Adlers. You can purchase them any place but ask that you wear navy blue, black or gray outside for class. Keep them in your PE locker just for gym class. We don't let you wear the clothes that you wear to school outside for PE class (this results in a negative point). Bringing old gym shoes for outside is also a good thing to do saving your new ones for inside during the winter.

Please send a note with your child if he or she needs to be excused from class for a day. We ask for a physician's note if it is longer than two days.
