Gifted & Talented Education

Hi there,

I'm hugely excited to introduce myself as the gifted and talented education (GATE) teacher for Kellogg this year. The GATE mission statement is “to create an environment in which the full potential of the gifted and talented learner is recognized, encouraged and nurtured”. I will strive to also create an environment that celebrates hard work and inspires students to take risks in their learning — to forgo the fear of ambition.

This will be my third year with Rochester Public Schools. I taught English previously, and then orchestra, which I will continue to teach this year in addition to the GAT program.

I’ve enjoyed living in Minnesota for the past three years after moving from the United Kingdom where I also taught. I originally received my bachelor’s degree from Cardiff University.

Some more information about the program is available on the tabs to the left, but please feel free to ask me any questions that you might have. My e-mail address is

Kind regards,
Daniel Mansfield
